SpecialKidz partners with Decibels for The Week of Sound UK

The Week of Sound UK is being organised by Speci@lKidz & Decibels and aims to encourage every human being to realise that sound is a fundamental element of personal balance with others and with the world in its economic, environmental, social, medical, industrial and cultural dimensions. Sound is the door through which one can explore the world.

The Week of Sound UK is being organised around five fundamental issues:

  1. Health
  2. Sound environment
  3. Recording and diffusion techniques
  4. Relation between image and sound
  5. Musical and Sound expression

The Week of Sound started in France in 2004 and has since been organised around the world in various countries including Canada, Switzerland, Mexico, Colombia, Venezuela, Argentina and Uruguay.

The Week of Sound UK is going to be held in venues around Reading in 2016 with the central theme of: Sounds never sleep. Experts in the field of sound, audio, education, technology, health, environment, acoustics, music and sound art will be guiding this journey to discover the importance of sound in everyday life. Additionally, members of the public will be able to take part in this journey through artistic workshops, installations and interactive activities.
